October 27, the second match day of Snooker International Championship, we are honored to invite Ms. Wang Tao, the government official and Vice Chairman of Chinese Billiards & Snooker Association, Mr. Jason Ferguson, the Chairman of WPBSA, Mr. Nigel Mawer, the Vice Chairman of WPBSA and three professional snooker players, Mr. Ben Wollaston, Mr. Alan Mcmanus and Mr. Niu Zhuang to visit our college and have games with our students.

On behalf of our college, Mr. Yin Ximing, College General Party Secretary, extends a warm welcome to our distinguished guests. He believes such kind of interactions between the professional players and our students are bond to expand the influence of snooker and help students strengthen their mind and body. He encourages our students to understand the essence of this sport and be a concentrated, ambitious and respected gentleman.

Mr. Jason Ferguson expresses appreciation for the hospitality and considerations done by CDTC students and teachers, and he also briefly introduces the development of snooker. Ms. Wang Tao emphasizes the concentrated mind and controlling ability in snooker sport and admits that the popularity of snooker not only creates many skillful players but also boost international exchanges.

Then, our students have a game with three professional snooker players. In the match, the performance of our students is praised by our players. After the game, our guests visit the Shu Embroidery Center. The embroidery crafts on display attract their attention and especially the double-sided ones surprise them a lot. Mr. Jason Ferguson and other players even have a try. “Though both are finished by hand, but Shu embroidery is much more difficult than snooker, since the former requires more meticulous hand movement and patience.” Mr. Jason Ferguson said modestly after doing a few stitches of “panda” picture. In the end, handmade embroidery crafts as gifts are sent for every guest for memory.
