2 teachers and 5 students from Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar and Apeejay institute of Design fly thousands of miles from India to join our “2014 Fashion Summer of Chengdu Textile College & Raidy Boer” from June 13 to June 17.
Indian friends brought six sets of costumes in three groups to exhibit the Ancient, Medieval and modern Indian Clothing. Exotic costumes and complicated decorations made people dazzling.
In addition to fashion show, they also brought us two pieces of traditional Indian dance: Kathak and Giddha. In the very noise modern world, it is our fortune to be able to enjoy the pure dance and to experience the original flavor. Both the performances speak volumes for Apeejay’s endeavor in promoting the Cultural Heritage of India through its multifarious art forms.
On June 17, Apeejay teachers and students visited our College. Mrs. Huang Xiaoping introduced the College History Museum. They were very interested in our history and carefully inquired about the teaching activities during the Anti-Japanese War. They also pay special attention to the students’ works in the history museum. In the center of Shu embroidery, they tried to embroidery and highly appreciate the work of the students and teachers.
As countries with a long history, China and India has a unique national culture respectively. We believe that based on the mutual exchange of fashion show, more and further communications between two schools, even between two peoples will come true soon.
