On the morning of 18th April, SITHONG THANKHANTI, vice director of Oudomxay Education and Sports Department in Lao, Chanty VIRASAYPHONE, director of Oudomxay Vocational College in Lao, and Zhang Tingjiang, chairman of China-Laos Friendship School, and other 8 people came to the college to discuss matters related to the joint construction of Leizu School. Ren Yingwei, Secretary of Party Committee of the college, Sun Rui, President of the college, Industry and Education Exchange Office, College of Construction and Environment, and College of Liberal Studies attended the meeting, which was presided over by Sun Rui, President of CDTC.
Party Secretary of the School, Prof. Ren Yingwei expressed his warm welcome to the visit of SITHONG THANKHANTI and his group, then made an introduction of the overall situation of the school, saying that the school attaches great importance to the strengthening of the international exchanges among the neighbouring Asian countries. Last year, the school became the first members of the World Alliance for the Development of Vocational and Technical Education, we will recruit international students in Laos on the basis of the construction of textile characteristics of the school's Leizu School, to serve the development of the local industry, to help the growth of Laotian students to become successful.
SITHONG THANKHANTI introduced the situation of Oudomxay Province and informed the situation of vocational education in Oudomxay Province. He was full of expectation for the co-operation between the school and Oudomxay Vocational and Technical College in building Leizu School and hoped that both sides would co-operate through the construction of the Leizu School to jointly promote the development of the education cause in Laos and to further strengthen the friendship between China and Laos.
At the meeting, the two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on the issues of professional settings for the construction of Leizu School, student enrolment, the mode of academic system, input of teaching resources, and the mutual assignment of teachers and other issues. Chanty VIRASAYPHONE, Director of Oudomxay Vocational College in Laos, introduced the situation of the college's foreign co-operation and enrolment of students, and said that based on the reality of Oudomxay, he expected the school to carry out short-term training in clothing and provide teacher training for the local community in the first place.
President Sun Rui said that in the spirit of seeking truth from facts and taking public welfare as the starting point, based on the original cooperation between the school and Laos, the school will adopt diversified modes of cooperation to promote the cooperation between the two sides in depth, to enhance the level of local vocational personnel training through the cultivation of international students and technical skills training, to serve the needs of the local economic development and industry, and to form the characteristics of the Leizu School.
After the symposium, President Sun Rui and Chairman Zhang Tingjiang had a signing ceremony of building Leizu School with China-Laos Friendship School. On behalf of the school, Mr Ren Yingwei, secretary of the school, presented the cultural and creative products of Shu brocade to the Laos side. It is believed that under the joint efforts of the two sides, the project of building the Leizu School will surely be able to achieve fruitful results, inject new vitality into the development of the educational cause of China and Laos, and write a new chapter for the consolidation and development of the friendship between China and Laos.
After the meeting, the Laotian guests visited the University's Sichuan Engineering Centre for Functional Development and Application of High Performance Special Textile Materials, and the Sichuan Key Laboratory for Digital Protection and Inheritance of Non-legacy of Weaving and Embroidery Techniques (Shu Embroidery and Shu Brocade).
