From 23rd April to 29th April, a delegation of teachers and students from CDTC went to Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University in Thailand to carry out a 7-day cultural exchange summer camp. This activity was led by the Department of Industry-Education Integration and External Exchange of the college, with the participation of teachers and students from the School of Fashion Engineering and Design and the School of Art Design and Creativity, and led by Jiang Chunyan, teacher from the School of Apparel Engineering and Design, with the aim of deepening the cooperation between Chinese and Thai educations, expanding the international vision of the students, and enhancing the cultural self-confidence. The camp was also attended by teachers and students from Polus International College, Xuzhou Medical University and Yunnan Forestry Technological College.

Deepening Cooperation, Expanding Prospectives

On April 23, the delegation arrived in Thailand. Patt, a teacher representative from Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University, warmly welcomed all the participants and arranged for them to stay in the student dormitory. On the morning of April 24, the opening ceremony of the summer camp was grandly held in Building 35 of the university. At the opening ceremony, promotional videos of various schools were played, and representatives of Chinese and Thai teachers and students spoke respectively, expressing their good wishes to strengthen exchanges and enhance friendship. After the meeting, all teachers and students took a group photo.

Mutual Cultural and Aesthetical Appreciations

During the event, the delegation experienced Thai culture in depth through various forms. During the exchange, teachers and students studied Thai clothing culture in groups, tried on traditional clothing, and learned Thai language and etiquette through interactive games and role-playing to deepen their understanding of Thai culture. At the same time, as an extension of the fashion design major, teachers and students also held a small seminar on "Comparison of Traditional Chinese and Thai Clothing", discussing the similarities and differences between the two countries' clothing from the perspectives of material, tailoring, cultural symbols, etc. The exchange atmosphere was warm and pleasant.

Potential Collaborations in the Future

On April 28, group teacher Jiang Chunyan visited Dr. Jakrappan Wangpa, assistant to the president of Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University. Both sides had in-depth exchanges on future cooperation and signed a cooperation agreement. In the afternoon of the same day, each research group showed carefully produced video works and shared their learning experiences. In the evening, Chinese and Thai teachers and students jointly held a cultural performance, presenting a wonderful cultural feast through dance, songs, musical instrument performances, calligraphy exhibitions and other forms. After the performance, the two sides exchanged souvenirs to express their good wishes.
