Deepening the Belt and Road Initiative, Empowering China–Laos Education — CDTC Delegation Returns from Laos with Fruitful ResultsNovember 13, 2025

Approved by the Sichuan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, from October 28 to 31, a delegation from our college—consisting of Deputy Party Secretary Zhou Hong and Secretary of the Party Branch of the School of Textile Engineering Luo Ya—visited Laos for a four-day exchange. During the visit, the delegation met with the Faculty of Languages at the National University of Laos and the China–Laos Friendship School, successfully completing its scheduled tasks and injecting new vitality into China–Laos educational cooperation.

Deepening Chinese + Vocational Education Cooperation and Signing Multiple Agreements

On the morning of October 29, the delegation made its first visit to the Faculty of Languages at the National University of Laos, where they held discussions with Dean Mysay, Director Song Shaonan, and other representatives. Both sides engaged in deep exchanges on the integrated development of “Mandarin + Vocational Education” and signed two key documents:

• Agreement on Joint Development and Training of “Chinese + Innovation and Entrepreneurship”Courses

• Agreement on Chinese Language Training

The two parties conducted detailed discussions on curriculum development, faculty training, and implementation plans, and held a joint seminar on course design.

Our delegation introduced the college’s innovation and entrepreneurship education system and teacher training programs, responding to questions regarding course delivery methods, teaching content, and facility requirements. During the meeting, our school donated 10 sets of entrepreneurship training textbooks and SIYB (Start and Improve Your Business) practical simulation materials to the National University of Laos, providing strong support for local entrepreneurship education.

Demonstration of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Course Received with Enthusiasm

That afternoon, the delegation conducted a SYB (Start Your Business) demonstration session for 30 students from the Faculty of Languages. The course, focusing on practical business operations and interactive learning, was met with great enthusiasm. Students participated actively, and several Lao teachers who attended the class highly praised the teaching model, expressing eagerness to see the course officially launched soon.

Scholarship Award Ceremony Strengthens ChinaLaos Educational Ties

On the morning of October 30, the delegation held the Sichuan Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students in China award ceremony at the National University of Laos. Two Lao students currently studying at our school received their scholarship certificates. The delegation encouraged them to excel academically, contribute to Laos economic development, and serve as cultural ambassadors promoting China–Laos friendship.

Advancing the Construction of the Overseas Leizu Institute and Expanding New Horizons for Cooperation

Following the ceremony, the delegation visited the China–Laos Friendship School and held in-depth discussions with Principal Xu Shunhong regarding the establishment of an overseas campus. After gaining a thorough understanding of the school’s operations and development needs, both sides reached a preliminary consensus on the joint construction of the “Laos Leizu Institute.”

The Lao side expressed interest in introducing vocational and technical courses aligned with Laos’s economic development and the needs of Chinese enterprises, on top of existing Chinese language teaching. This vision aligns closely with our college’s overseas education positioning, marking a significant step forward in China–Laos educational collaboration.

Promoting Chengdu and Study-in-China Policies to Inspire Student Enthusiasm

That afternoon, the delegation conducted an engaging open Chinese language class for over 60 high school students at the China–Laos Friendship School. The class focused on effective Chinese learning methods and the value of mastering the language, while introducing the economic and cultural opportunities in Chengdu and our school’s study-in-China programs.

The lively and interactive session sparked great interest among students in learning Chinese and studying in China, cultivating potential future candidates for educational exchange.

Advancing Practical Cooperation in Belt and Road Education

This visit to Laos marked an important step in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative for educational cooperation, as well as a key move in strengthening Lao student cultivation and overseas campus development. Through on-site research and in-depth dialogue, the delegation gained precise insights into the needs of Lao universities in Chinese language education, innovation capacity building, and vocational training.

Moving forward, our college will take this collaboration as an opportunity to accelerate the implementation of the “Chinese + Innovation and Entrepreneurship” courses and teacher training programs, actively promote the establishment of the Laos Leizu Institute, and continuously deepen pragmatic cooperation with the Lao education sector.

We remain committed to contributing the “Chengdu Textile” strength to the enduring China–Laos friendship and to talent development in the region.
