School of Economics and Management

General Introduction

 School of Economics and Management founded based on the former Economics and Trade Department in 1993. It has a history of about twenty years since it began to enroll textile -trade students. The distinguishing characteristic of the school is the mode of personnel training of the interaction between practicing and learning, which cultivates applied graduates with the practical ability and creative spirit.

School of Economics and Management is composed of 5 Teaching and Research Sections: Foreign Trade, Accounting, Management, Tourism and Business Secretary. It has 2 training centers: economics & trade, textile developing and research centre and 9 majors: International Trade, International Declarations and Freight, Business Secretary Legal Secretarial Computerized Accounting, Tourism Management, Hotel Management, Logistics Management and Property Management. Now there are about 1500 students.

There are more than 60 full-time and part-time teachers including 7 professors, 20 associate professors, 1 outstanding teacher of Sichuan province, 1 excellent teacher of Sichuan province, 3 teachers with doctor’s degree, 25 teachers with master’s degree and 2 overseas returnees as well.  The school has participated in the programs in Guang’an and Pengzhou Industrial Parks and undertaken 10 provincial and national key projects and more than 40 research projects.

The school has cooperated with many enterprises for co-education, such as Sichuan Jierui International Freight Forwarder CO., LTD, Sichuan Haitong Customs Company, 732 Machines Plant of People’s Liberation Army, Kanghui Travel Agency, Crown Plaza Holiday Inn of Intercontinental Group Kempinski Hotels and so on. These enterprises enable students to practice their professional skills and obtain comprehensive abilities as well. Our students take part in various technical skill competitions and achieved lots of prizes.

Brief Introduction of Majors

1.      Hotel Management

This major is employment-orientation. And it focuses on training the students with both professional theories and practical skills. They are required to have good communication skills and able to qualify themselves in their working position from the basic level to the high-end.

2. Accounting

To train the students with a good command of accounting operating skills and the application of accounting computerization. Students are required to be able to undertake work related to accounting, auditing and economic management. Moreover, professional ethics is also emphasized.

3. Logistics Management

The Training Objectives is to foster the students with professional knowledge, qualification and abilities in modern logistic management and system management, and to help students undertake jobs in enterprises or logistics distribution centers. At the same time, the graduates on this major can plan, deploy and handle the logistic activities.

4. Tourism Management
　The aim of the major is to train the high-level and application-oriented graduates who develop comprehensively. Graduates will possess the professional basic knowledge and practical skills. They are qualified for the jobs in travel agencies, hotels and travel enterprises.

5. Secretary of Law
　The aim of the major is to train the application-oriented graduates who develop in an all-round way. Graduates possess the theory and knowledge of law and secretarial skills, such as documents writing and office automation.

6. International Economy and Trade
　To master basic knowledge and skills of international trade, we focus on cultivating  students to undertake declaration, foreign loan, export, documents, inspection and so on. They are hoped to be trained as senior workers served at the front line in various companies with noble professional morality.
